Success or failure often depends upon whose product is of the highest quality. Everybody wants an application to be highly available and lightning fast. Performance issues will either be discovered by the end users, or in the pre-production performance testing environment. Being able to quickly troubleshoot, isolate, and resolve those issues is what separates the men from the boys. How the performance testing is conducted will determine the speed, scalability, and stability of an application. In this presentation we will discuss some best practices for performance testing, and why test teams should embrace them as part of the development process.

About the Speaker

As a Rational Software Technical Professional Brian LaHaie assists customers in identifying ways to leverage Rational Software product(s) to improve software development and delivery processes. Before working for the IBM Rational Software brand, he was a consultant for 5 years specializing in software performance testing and tuning, with a specialized focus in web and Java based applications running on Unix. Brian holds a Bachelor of Science degree in computer science from Trinity College (Hartford, CT).
